From the beginning Maru has understood the importance of community but that has never been more true than in 2020. Like so many of our local businesses, we have had to make fast-paced changes and quick pivots to push our vision forward and our staff safe. It has been challenging but we understand, none of it would have been possible without the support of our LA community. 

We are grateful and understand that we did not make it through this year on our own. We believe it is the community who chooses to support local commerce. We are also grateful for our baristas who continued making coffee during a time of pandemic. As a small business, we have had to face challenging questions about balancing worker safety and keeping our doors open.  None of these choices have been easy and our Maru team has been empathetic and patient in the face of much change.
