Competition Gesha | Colombia Las Margaritas
Café Granja La Esperanza was founded in 1945 by Blanca Correa and her husband Juan Herrera at the Potosí farm. Family-operated for generations, it is renowned for producing high-quality specialty coffee using innovative processing methods, including unique fermentation and milling techniques. In 2007, their son, Don Rigoberto, won "Best Coffee of Panama" with a farm he managed in Boquete, Panama. This success inspired him to bring Gesha coffee seeds to Colombia, marking a new chapter for both Café Granja La Esperanza and Colombian coffee as a whole.
Today, Café Granja La Esperanza operates five farms—Cerro Azul, Las Margaritas, La Esperanza, Potosí, and Hawaii—and works with 12 coffee communities. Their quality control laboratory monitors coffee quality at every stage, and certified Q-graders share their expertise with local farms, ensuring consistent, award-winning results across all their coffees.
This Gesha is deemed competition-grade due to its flavor / aroma complexity and SCA cupping score valued over 90.
